Annual Sports Day

The Al- Najadi Al Shabab, Safalat Ibra Sports Ground, Ibra was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere on 17th November 2017 as Indian School, Ibra celebrated its 27th Annual Sports day. Majority of the students participated in the various sports events. All students, especially participants were really excited about the event.

The programme began with a melodious welcome song. The Chief guest, Sheik Khalifa Bin Salah Bin Salim Al Busaeedi, Honorable Naaeb Waali, Jabal Al- Akhdhar,the guest of honour, Dr. Yahia Bin Mohd Al Busaidi, Special guest for the day Sheik Khaleefa Al Muskari, Sponsor of new school buiding of Indian school, Ibra, Mr. Abdula, President of the sports ground, School managing committee and parents graced the occasion with their presence.

The celebrations began with a lightening of the sports torch, flag hoisting, march past by all four house viz. Blue, Green, Red and Yellow and oath taking ceremony.

The events filled in the hearts of everyone with the spirit of sportsmanship and unity. The students displayed a wide array of colourful and reverberant events. They mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances. The junior and senior drill, novelty races from classes KG I to II, track events, folk dances – Bhangra and Dandiya Rass remained as the main attractions of the mega event. The pique of the show was the announcement for the House Trophy Winner. All the students cheered for their respective houses, eventually it belonged to  Yellow House.

The principal of Indian School, Ibra, Mr. Regi Oommen thanked everyone who contributed their service either directly or indirectly for the grand success of the mega event. Sports Day ended with Oman and Indian national Anthem.

Talent Day

The Talent Day was organized on 21-10-2017. Students of Classes V-XI participated in various events English and Hindi literary competitions, Music and Dance, Rangoli, Street Play and Mime. The students of four houses (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow) competed with each other in order to gain points to their respective houses. The student’s performance was judged by a panel of judges from various fields. It was a very busy day for students and they were found enthustiacally taking part in various events.

To event ended up with a small assembly where the Principal Mr. Regi Oomeen addressed the gathering. He thanked the President and members of SMC for their support in organizing the event. He thanked the judges for sparing their valuable time and judging the students. The judges wear felicitated with a memento as a token of love from Indian School Ibra.

Annual Exhibition

The Annual Exhibition was held on 26-08-2017. The mega event began with lighting of lamp by the members of the School Management Committee.  The members of SMC rendered a floral welcome to all the judges of the Annual Exhibition. Students of classes IV-XI were enthusiastic and presented exhibits in various fields like literature (English, Hindi, Arabic, Malayalam) Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Information Technology, Art & Craft.

Students also performed entertaining programmes like skits in English and Malayalam. Group songs were presented in Arabic language.

The students were judged by our guests based on certain criteria. The students were awarded for their best performances in all the fields.

Republic Day

On 26th January, 2017 Indian School Ibra celebrated the 68th Republic day of India in the school premises.  Students of Class VII B conducted a special assembly.   Mr. Robin Rohith Vincent, President, SMC was the Chief Guest on that occasion.  Master Alen Roy (Class X), Head Boy, read out the message given by Indian President Shri. Pranab Mukherjee. Students of various classes presented different cultural programmes on the occasion. Miss Amitha Arunkumar (Class X), Head Girl, delivered a speech in Hindi on the importance of the day. The assembly ended with the patriotic song sung by the School Choir.

Yoga Day

Indian School Ibra celebrated the 3rd International Yoga Day on May 25, 2017 at the school premises in order to bring awareness about the significance of Yoga among the students.  The programme was compered by Miss Anya Akbar of Class IX.  The Guests of the day were Mr. Robin Rohit Vincent, President, School Management Committee (SMC), Dr. Mohammed Luqman, Member and Mr. Augustine Joseph, Member of SMC.  A floral welcome was given to the Guests by the Students’ Council member. The programme was witnessed by the Principal Mr. RegiOommen, supervisors, teachers and students of Classes V to XI.  A welcome song was presented by the School Choir.  Mrs. Leena Oommen, Physical Education Teacher of the school, in her speech, depicted the importance of yoga and pranayama.

 

A cosmic dance was presented by the girls from Classes V to VIII.  The students of four houses demonstrated distinct asanas – Blue House: Tadasan and Katichakrasan, Green House: Shashakasan and Ushtrasan, Red House: Pashchimottasan and ChakkiChalan, Yellow House: Bhujangasan and Dhanurasan.  Simultaneously, girls of Classes VIII to XI presented the pyramid formation.  It was followed by the Pranayama (the breathing exercise), performed by students of all houses together which was guided with instructions and demonstration by Mrs. Leena Oommen.  A fusion dance, a type of contemporary dance form that combines different styles to create a new aesthetic, was also presented by the girls of Classes V to VIII.

Around 270 students from classes VI to XI participated in the International Yoga Day Special Assembly Programme.

The memorable programme was concluded with the general meditation followed by the Yoga Anthem sung by the School Choir.

Independence Day

The 71st Independence Day special assembly was conducted by the students of Class X. Eshat Jahan being the anchor of the assembly. Abdul Razaq presented the thought for the day. School Head-Boy Samuel Jackson Presented the President’s speech, followed by which the students presented various cultural programmes showing their love and respect to their motherland “India”.

An aerobic dance and group dance was performed by the girls of classes VI-XI.

The programme came to an end with a patriotic song followed by distribution of sweets to the students as a part of  the  celebration.
